19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev won his initial trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid season, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden championship after the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface after March of that year.
Victory also signifies the Russian has secured 21 championships at 21 different competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted commentators to question if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, winning 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to push for a decider.
He rescued 4 initial break points in a close final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
