AC Shadows Reveals Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a bizarre collaboration that challenges traditional expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the official announcement, "A strange meeting pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous transformations reverberate through the darkness." The storyline features a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine group.
The mission focuses on "strange experiments and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Changes
The preview showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Bonus Content
Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an unique katana in addition to multiple objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe

Latest Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's newest free story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe debuts a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
